Our Mission

Our mission is to promote a sustainable future by collaborating with retailers and their customers to recycle or reuse lingerie, reduce textile waste, and enhance environmental and community stewardship while also providing job opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Elaine Birks Mitchell

Elaine Birks Mitchell is the driving force behind The Bra Recyclers, a pioneering social enterprise dedicated to recycling gently loved bras and new underwear for over 15 years. Her commitment has led to donating over four million bras to nonprofits across 29 states and 8 countries, ensuring comfort, confidence, and safety for women of all sizes facing adversity.

Her passion for creating a circular economy drives her to support retailers in finding responsible solutions for disposing of overstock and returns while also incentivizing customers to recycle.
